RFK Jr. Shines Light on SSRI Dangers: A Wake-Up Call for Public Health

In a bold move signaling a potential sea change in U.S. health policy, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has amplified a damning exposé on selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), the blockbuster antidepressants prescribed to millions. Quoting a detailed thread by physician and Substack writer A Midwestern Doctor, Kennedy's post on X (formerly Twitter) declares that the CDC is "finally confronting the long-taboo question" of whether these drugs fuel mass violence.

The thread revisits a 1991 FDA hearing where harrowing testimonies—suicides, homicides, and school shootings linked to SSRIs like Prozac—poured in. Despite this deluge, the FDA buried the risks, a pattern echoed in later lawsuits revealing industry knowledge of akathisia-induced violence. Midwestern Doctor's video clip from the hearing underscores stories that "should have been immediate grounds to take SSRIs off the market."

Kennedy's endorsement ties into suppressed CDC data allegedly tracking SSRI use among school shooters, withheld due to political fallout. The thread links to in-depth analyses, including evidence of SSRIs' role in mass shootings and FDA corruption mirroring COVID vaccine scandals. It warns of 255% heightened suicidality, 59% sexual dysfunction rates, and 30% bipolar induction, driving 56% of users to quit prematurely.

Kennedy's platform could catalyze reform: mandatory black-box warnings, deprescribing protocols, and transparent pharmacovigilance. As he vows to unearth "the real dangers of SSRIs they keep covering up," patients deserve answers—not more cover-ups.

The era of unchecked pharma influence may finally be ending.
